Development

The Miss Canada Plus Pageant (MCPP) was founded on June 2003 by the Founder and President, Glenora H. Joseph. As the first and only pageant of its kind, MCPP served as an extension of the thriving pageant community in Toronto. Pageants have long been a part of Glenora’s professional and personal life. She has been a contestant, honorable judge, advocate and strong supporter for many years. Noticing that beautiful, plus-size women of diverse backgrounds were not being adequately represented on the pageant circuit, Glenora decided to establish a forum to display the beauty, intelligence and talents of plus size women.  Thus, the birth of the Miss Canada Plus Pageant!

The pageant is in it's 4th year running. The competition has set a standard for pageant in Toronto because of it creative and professional organization. Young women participating in the MCPP has found renewed sense of sisterhood, acceptance and belonging. The MCPP promotes health and wellness for both the body and mind and celebrates internal and external beauty.
